Community Guidelines

Random chat only works if the person on the other side can trust that the next match will not be something awful. These rules apply to every mode, video, voice and text, and to live rooms. They are short on purpose.

Be a real person on camera

In video mode, your face should be visible. Pointing the camera at the ceiling, a wall, a pet or another screen makes the conversation pointless for the other person and is treated as an empty camera. Reasonable light helps too.

Do not use pre-recorded, looped or virtual camera feeds to pass something off as live. Fake cameras are one of the most common tools for scams, and accounts using them are removed.

Keep it non-explicit

No nudity, no sexual acts, and no pushing a conversation towards either. The person you are matched with did not choose to see it. This applies in private calls and live rooms as much as in random matching.

Adults only, without exceptions

Everyone using OmeTVCam must be 18 or older. Nobody under 18 may appear on camera, even briefly in the background. Accounts involving minors are removed, and we treat these reports as the most urgent kind.

Treat people decently

No harassment, bullying or repeated unwanted contact, including through follows and messages after a call ends.
No hate: attacks based on race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, gender, sexuality or disability are not allowed.
No threats of violence or self-harm encouragement.
No demands for money, images or personal details, and no extortion of any kind.

No spam, links or advertising

Do not paste links, social handles, phone numbers or promotions into conversations with people you have just met. Accounts that exist to push other sites, paid services or products are removed. If a conversation genuinely goes well, that is a decision the two of you can make later, not an opening line.

Respect other people's privacy

Do not record, screenshot or stream anyone without their clear consent, and never share or threaten to share such material. Do not try to find out where someone lives or works, and do not post other people's personal information.

Using the next and report buttons

Pressing next at a normal pace is always fine; nobody is obliged to stay in a call. Skipping at machine speed, however, looks like automated scanning and may be restricted. If someone breaks these rules, report them and move on rather than arguing. More on reporting is on our safety page.

What happens when rules are broken

Minor or first-time problems usually lead to a warning or a short restriction.
Repeated problems lead to longer restrictions.
Anything involving minors, explicit content, recording others, threats, extortion or fake cameras leads to removal.
Creating new accounts to get around a restriction extends it or makes it permanent.
